Red, White & Blue With Blue Italian

Patriotic tables don’t have to be over the top to feel festive. One of my favorite ways to celebrate the season is by combining classic red, white, and blue accents with pieces I already own and love. For this table, I started with a blue and white gingham tablecloth that I had never used for a patriotic setting before. The soft shades of blue create a fresh backdrop for all the red, white, and blue details while still feeling timeless and welcoming. If you love patriotic tables like I do,Here’s a LINK to some other patriotic tables I’ve created!

Layered Place Settings

The place settings are simple, classic, and easy to recreate. I began with woven chargers for warmth and texture, then layered my favorite Spode Blue Italian dinner plates. To add a patriotic touch, I topped them with cheerful red and white polka dot salad plates. The combination of patterns and colors feels festive without being complicated.

The napkins are from Henhouse Linens, a woman-owned Southern company that I absolutely love supporting. Their cotton napkins wash and wear beautifully and are wonderfully low maintenance. Most of the time, they don’t even need ironing. I tied each napkin with a simple American Flag Ribbon featuring a small American flag, which added just the right patriotic detail. Red and blue glasses paired with bamboo flatware complete each place setting and help bring the entire look together.

Simple Patriotic Centerpiece

When creating a holiday table, I often find that simple arrangements make the biggest impact. For this centerpiece, I filled a metal container with white hydrangeas, white spray roses and red St. John’s Wort. The crisp white flowers stand out beautifully against the blue tablecloth and colorful table settings.

To make the arrangement feel festive, I tucked three small American flags into the flowers and scattered a few felt stars from Hobby Lobby around the centerpiece. These inexpensive additions instantly transformed a simple floral arrangement into a patriotic focal point.

Finishing Touches

The finishing touches are what make a table feel special. Down the center of the table, I added a patriotic pom-pom garland from Hobby Lobby for a fun and playful element. A few vintage patriotic figurines add character and nostalgia, while my Walmart glass hurricanes help create height and balance along the table.

What I love most about this table is how easy it is to recreate using pieces you may already have on hand. By mixing classic blue and white dishes with simple red accents, fresh flowers, and a few patriotic decorations, you can create a table that feels festive, welcoming, and perfect for summer gatherings.

Whether you’re hosting a Fourth of July celebration, a Memorial Day cookout, or simply gathering family and friends around the table, this red, white, and blue setting is proof that patriotic style can be both beautiful and effortless.

What You’ll Need for the Centerpiece.

Blue and white is always right—even for a patriotic celebration!

Grateful for you,

Julie
