My Black Friday 2024 & Christmas Deals: Top Discounts, Sales, and Shopping Tips!

Thanksgiving is almost here and that means sweet time with family, lots of fantastic food, stretchy pants, naps and… So many sales!

Do you love getting a deal? I enjoy having nice things, but I really don’t like paying full price for them unless I absolutely have to. Gifts for Mom

I had to start with Mom because not only am I a mom, but let’s be honest- moms do so much for the family! Most of the time they do the cooking, cleaning, shopping, picking up, wiping tears, listening and encouraging…and so much more! Here are some things that I have- or would love- and I know the mom in your life would love, too! I have some Amazon Favorites and some from my favorite retailers as well. If the mom in your life loves getting pretty classic clothing for Christmas, here are some looks she will love!

Gifts for Guys

Guys are sometimes hard to shop for in my opinion. Here are some things that my husband either loves, or would love, and things I think would be great for any guy in your life. See the Amazon list here, and my LTK list here.

Gifts for Little Kids 

Having little kids is so magical at Christmas time! Not only are they so much fun to shop for, but it brings true joy watching them open gifts. Funny story, my girls, who are now both in college, still talk about one of their best gifts ever- a kid sized cardboard house. It truly was one of their favorite gifts and I spent less than $20 on it at the time. It was literally a cardboard gingerbread house that they got to color and paint and provided hours and hours of entertainment!  I tried to find a picture of theirs, but unfortunately I think it’s on an old hard drive somewhere. Rats! Gifts for Tween/Teen Girls 

Is it just me, or do you feel like little girls are growing up too fast these days! Middle school girls want all kinds of fancy makeup and beauty products. I’ve included some of those, but also some other things that I think are fun.  Tween/Teen Girl List.

Gifts for the Hostess 

Maybe it’s a southern thing, but I think it’s a nice gesture to bring someone a small gift when they invite you over for a party or dinner. Gifts for Grandparents 

Grandparents can be tricky because they have so many things and don’t want a bunch of stuff that takes up space in their home.  These gifts are things grandma and grandpa would not only enjoy, but that would be memorable as well. 

Shopping Tips and Tricks

I would say almost all of the places I typically shop have deals right now. However, so many of them make you cope and paste a promo code to receive the discount. So…

Tip #1 is- don’t forget to copy and paste the code to get your discount!

Tip #2- if there is a particular item you are shopping for, use google search to find the best price. I always appreciate you supporting Southern Mountain Girl, but if you can get a better price elsewhere, I completely understand!

Tip #3- If you shop early like I do, keep a list of what you’ve purchased for everyone so you don’t overbuy.

Tip #4- pick a wrapping paper for each person in your family. That way you know that Dad gets the packages with plaid paper, sister gets the ones with nutcracker paper, etc. Just don’t be like me and accidentally wrap sister’s gift in dad’s wrapping paper :)

Tip #5- Buy on line and pick up in store! Or- even better, buy online and have items shipped to you if you aren’t in a hurry and they offer free shipping. That way you don’t have to mess with the crazy parking lots, irritable people and overcrowded malls and stores.
