Closet Essential: Colette Pants

The one style that I wear the most?  My Anthropologie Colette wide legged pants/jeans!!  They are flattering, stylish and oh so comfortable!  I literally wear mine every week and wrote about them in my 5 favorite summer purchases blog! Every once in a while they go on sale and I’ll grab a new fun color:). I think after reading this post, you’ll want to add a pair, or two, to your wardrobe as well!

The Flattering Wide Legged Fit and Sizing

The Anthropologie Colette wide-legged pants are their best selling pant/jean for a reason!  The high waist makes your legs look extra long and creates a look that complements all body types. However, they aren’t so high waisted that you feel like your torso is all covered up! I am short-waisted and only 5’4, and they work great for my body type.  One of my daughter’s is 5’8 and the other 5’6- they look great on us all!

As far as sizing goes, I wear my usual size in the jeans, and go down one size in the cotton and linen pants. I wear my usual size in the corduroy option. FYI- I wear a regular and the full length pants are just the right length with 3 inch boots. If you are taller, I’d order the “tall” in the full length pants. Just to be safe, you might want to order 2 sizes and return the ones that don’t fit. They have many more options online than they do in store. It’s great because they offer them in tall, regular, petite and plus sizes. They sell out often, but typically re-stock quickly.

Whether you’re dressing up a bit and want to wear your Colettes with wedges/heals, or going for a casual look, Colette wide-legged pants work great with both. In the pictures above you can see I wear them with more casual tops and sandals and then a fitted turtleneck and booties for a dressier look. Aren’t they so cute!? I get so many compliments whenever I wear mine. They are so versatile making them a staple in any closet!

So Many Colors/Fabrics!

Colettes are offered in tons of colors, patterns and fabric options.  They have linen for spring and summer, cotton in cropped and full length, denim in multiple washes and corduroy for winter! In my closet you’ll find Colette jeans in white and traditional denim. They also come in a faded light denim color. I have the full length pants and cropped as well as the corduroy option for winter. One of my daughters has 2 pairs of linen Colettes and wears them a bunch. They truly are the most comfortable and versatile pants I’ve ever owned and come in just about every color and pattern you might want.  This year Anthro started offering the cutest Colette jumpsuit!! My older daughter and I both got one and love it. They now make Colette skirts and shorts as well. I guess if something is selling really well and people love it, why not make more styles…right!? I can’t wait to see what colors they will have for fall and winter!

Quality and Comfort 

Anthropologie is known for its commitment to quality, and the Colette wide-legged pants are no exception. My girls and I have had our jeans for 3 years and pants for 2 years and they look good as new. We recently had a friend from Texas come visit who doesn’t love shopping. She tried on our Colette jeans as well as Colette pants and loved them so much she ordered them online. She said, “These are the most comfortable jeans I’ve ever put on, and I don’t like jeans! “ I usually wear mine several times before washing and then hang them to dry. They don’t stretch out a bunch like other pants and jeans I own.

I love finding things that I end up wearing over and over again.  Trust me when I say that if you invest in Colette jeans or pants, you will reach for them time and time again! They truly are so flattering, stylish and  comfortable, and some of my favorite items in my closet.
