How to Make an Elegant Red and White Floral Arrangement
Creating this elegant red and white floral arrangement, made using grocery store flowers, will make any table beautiful!
I always have fresh flowers in our home. Most of the time I’ll have a simple hydrangea arrangement or a dozen roses in a blue and white jar.
When I am creating a special tablescape, I put together an arrangement with multiple varieties of flowers. This simple red and white arrangement is perfect for Christmas, Valentine’s Day, Fourth of July or anytime you want a little red and white. This arrangement was made with Trader Joe’s flowers. TJ’s is my favorite place to buy flowers. They always have a wonderful variety and excellent prices!
Steps in Creating your Arrangement
- Choose your flowers. I chose 1 bunch white hydrangreas, I bunch red ranunculus, 1 bunch green balls, 1 bunch red and white spray roses and 1 bunch St. John’s Wort.
- Choose your container. I chose a simple cylinder to hold this arrangement. I didn’t want to take away from the beauty of the flowers, so I picked the most simple vase. Add flower food and water.
- Prepare your Flowers. You will want to take off the leaves that will be in water to prevent bacteria from growing. Cut your stems at a 45 degree angle. This allows your flowers to drink water.
- Put your largest blooms in first. Here I’ve used hydranageas.
- Use your fingers to make space in the middle of the hydrangea. Tuck in your flowers. I love how the ranunculus and roses peek out of the hydrangea blooms.
- I had a more free flowing arrangement with some ranunculus cut longer than the other flowers.
- Keep working until you feel like it it looks just right!

If you change the water and re-cut the stems every other day, your elegant red and white floral arrangement will last a week or more! Let me know if you create your own. I’d love to see pictures!
Grateful for you!
