How to Create 2 Beautiful Pinecone Christmas Arrangements

These 2 beautiful pinecone Christmas centerpieces use items you either have or can buy from your local grocery/craft store and will take your table from bland to beautiful!

I have always loved decorating with pinecones. I keep bags full that move from house to house and I love taking them out for fall and Christmas decorating. One of great things about living in Colorado is there are pinecones everywhere! I literally picked up an entire trash bag full one day on a walk. Side note, before you use them, just make sure you keep the bag sealed for a few weeks to kill off any little bugs that might be hiding in the cracks and crevices.

Pinecone, Fruit and Greenery Arrangement

This Colonial inspired arrangement uses pinecones, greenery and fresh or faux fruit. My mom always makes the prettiest Christmas wreaths and arrangements using fruit. This centerpiece makes me think of her!

What to Use/Buy

1. Choose a tray, bowl or planter that you already have or purchase one at your local thrift or nursery. I’ve decided to use a long wooden bread bowl. Mine measures 42″by 12″ so I needed a bunch of fruit and pinecones. If you use a smaller vessel, you will need much less.
2. lemons (I used 11)
3. limes (I used 10)
4. red apples or pomegranates (I used 6)
5. artichoke hearts (I used 5)
6. pine cones (I used 15)
7. One bunch of greenery from your yard or store/ or faux

How to put Together the Arrangement

1. Start by using your greenery to to line the bowl. Make sure you leave pieces hanging off the edges so you can see it once you include the fruit and pinecones.
2. Arrange your fruit to your liking. Because I used such a long bowl, I had to use a bunch of fruit and pinecones.
3. I placed the lemons and limes, then pomegranate, then pine cones.
4. Because I used faux fruit, (mostly from thrift stores) this arrangement will not only be beautiful this year, but I can use the elements year after year! yay!

Pinecone, Ornament and Greenery Arrangement

This sparkly simple arrangement uses shatterproof ornaments, pinecones, greenery and a a few votives.

What to Use/Buy

I didn’t have to buy anything for this pretty arrangement!

1. Decide what tray you will uses. I found this old brass tray at Goodwill for $3.00! It’s the perfect size for this simple arrangement.
2. Candles. I used 3 small votives I bought at Michael’s. If you use real candles, obviously make sure you don’t leave them unattended! Battery operated candles are a great, and long lasting option as well.
3. Greenery. I used real greenery leftover from a fresh garland I bought at Costco. Faux works just as well.
4. Pinecones. I used 5
5. Shatterproof ornaments. I used 2 sets of 3. Side note, I bought a huge sleeve of 100 ornaments for only $12 at Michaels!!

How to Put Together the Arrangement

1. I first lined the tray with the greenery. This doesn’t have to be perfect, just place the greenery pieces on the tray.
2. Place you candles where you’d like them. In design, things typically look better when you use an odd number. I used 3 candles, 2 sets of 3 ornaments and 5 pinecones.
3. Take your ornaments and put 3 together on opposite sides of the tray.
4. Fill in the middle/gaps with pinecones.

Both of these beautiful pinecone arrangements are easy to put together and will look so festive in your home!
