Galentine’s Day Table with Ribbon Centerpiece

One of my fondest memories from raising my girls is our annual Mommy & Me Valentine’s Tea Party. Every year we would dress up in our prettiest pink and red outfits and invite friends over for scones, heart-shaped peanut butter and jelly sandwiches, and the yummiest mini strawberry cupcakes. Those sweet afternoons gathered around the table created the very best memories.

The very first ribbon centerpiece I ever made was for one of those tea parties nearly 15 years ago — and it became a tradition I’ve loved recreating ever since. This Galentine’s table feels extra special because it brings together sweet memories, friendship, and my love for classic, cheerful holiday tablescapes. It’s bright and full of happy Valentine’s Day details. Here’s how I created the fun look.

The Ribbon Centerpiece

The ribbon runner is truly the star of this Galentine’s Day table. I layered multiple ribbons in shades of pink, red, and white to create a playful woven centerpiece that runs straight down the middle of the table. Mixing patterns like polka dots, stripes, and solids adds visual interest while still keeping everything cohesive. If you have followed me for a while you know that once upon a time I had a hair bow business. I still have some of the ribbon left over from that, but have found great ribbon on Amazon and at Hobby Lobby, Michael’s and even the Dollar Tree!

To soften the look, I added simple rose arrangements in clear glass vases. The combination of pink, cream, and deep red roses complements the ribbon colors beautifully and keeps the centerpiece low enough for easy conversation. I also tucked in a couple of sweet heart-shaped Valentine boxes right in the center for an extra festive accent. Ribbon centerpieces are such a fun Valentine’s decorating idea because they’re budget-friendly, customizable, and make a big impact. Even though this table is obviously for Valentine’s/Galentine’s, you can switch up the colors for a baby shower, football watching party, or really any occasion. The possibilities are endless!

The Table Linens

For the base of the table, I kept things clean and classic with a crisp white tablecloth. I bought mine at World Market and have used it a bunch. The white backdrop allows all of the pink and red Valentine details to really pop. The pink and white patterned placemats from Henhouse Linens are actually reversible! I love both sides, but the fun pink and white pattern is perfect for Valentine’s Day. Each place setting features the sweetest monogrammed linen napkins from The Southern Napkin. Tracy, the owner, makes the most unique and beautiful designs. Check out her website to see them all! I tied the napkins with red-and-white striped ribbon bows — one of my favorite little finishing touches.

Monogrammed napkins instantly elevate a table and in my opinion are worth every penny! The bows add just the right amount of playful charm and tie back perfectly to the ribbon centerpiece running down the table.

The Plates, Glasses and Silver

As I mentioned, the place settings are layered with soft pink quilted placemats from Henhouse Linens. Henhouse Linens has so many fun bright and happy tabletop pieces. I topped each placemat with red melamine dinner plates I’ve had for years, scalloped white and red salad plates, and the cutest red heart-shaped bowls. These heart bowls are such a fun Valentine’s Day detail and work perfectly for serving soup, salad, or dessert. I bought them at Target a few years ago and love pulling them out each February!

For the glassware, I used red goblets I’ve enjoyed for years, also from Target, and coordinating tumblers to add depth and sparkle to the table. The deep ruby tone contrasts beautifully with the lighter pink accents and creates that classic Valentine’s color palette everyone loves. Finished with traditional silver flatware, each place setting feels festive, polished, and welcoming — exactly what I want guests to feel when they sit down.
