A vase with colorful flowers graces the countertop, embodying the vibrant spirit of a Southern mountain girl. Behind it, two decorative blue and white plates with intricate designs stand proudly against a tiled backsplash.

Welcome to Mountain Things I Love! It’s funny how God works, isn’t it? For 25+ years, Scott and I have almost always chosen to go to the mountains for family vacations. It doesn’t matter what season- we love them all. (Except for spring, AKA mud season) Our girls love it, too as does Finley.

Here’s a picture of our sweet girls 14 years ago in Vail!

Two young girls sit on a wooden bench by a lake surrounded by mountains and pine trees. They each wear white shirts with names printed on them and smile while holding hands. One holds a bouquet of flowers. A person stands by boats in the background.

Our favorite mountain town is Steamboat. It is a little bit off the beaten path, but we love the feel of the town-down to earth, warm, easy to navigate.

We’ve been to Vail several times in the summer, but not yet in the winter. Now that we are an hour drive away, I know we will try out the mountain this winter.

As I explore the beauty and grandeur of the Rocky Mountains, I’ll share my thoughts on favorite things to do, favorites places to eat and unique places to visit!
